Donald Trump suspended most tariffs announced against Mexico and Canada until April 2nd, following negotiations. Mexico will not pay tariffs on goods covered by the USMCA trade agreement. Canada also suspended retaliatory measures. The two countries will continue working together on migration and security issues, including fentanyl and arms trafficking. The tariffs were initially imposed due to concerns about fentanyl trafficking.
